I can’t take the taste of straight-up whey protein spoon-mixed with water anymore, so I’ve been dabbling and experimenting with blending up smoothies. In a 2-quart pitcher mix:
- 4 scoops vanilla whey protein ( 1 scoop = 1 serving with the stuff I use so you may need to adjust the to get the equivalent of 4 servings)
- 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter (sometimes I bump it to 1/3 if I’m in the mood)
- 3 6oz Weight Watchers vanilla yogurts
- 1qt vanilla-flavored soy milk
- Ice cubes
Put the whey in first, followed by the rest of the ingredients. I usually put the soy milk last so I’m not splashing all around as I spoon the peanut butter into the pitcher. After all the ingredients are in, throw in as many ice cubes as you can, blend until it’s butter smooth and enjoy. It’s quite vanilla-y with the slightest hint of peanut butter. Lots of protein, too!
UPDATE: #1a is all of the above but replace the Weight Watchers vanilla flavored yogurt with the strawberry banana flavor of the same brand. Absolutely delicious and not overwhelmingly vanilla-y if you’ve got a problem with stuff that is.
